Well, it was an awesome weekend of live music. Thanks again to everyone who came to, played at, or helped out with our EP launch event at The Willow Tree Winchester on Friday. Thanks also to everyone in Head North, the other band which Simon, Rachel and I are members of, for a great performance of my musical setting of Rudyard Kipling's poem 'My Boy Jack' on Saturday. (Free download available for a limited time at http://www.headnorth.org.uk/my-boy-jack). Finally, many thanks to the enthusiastic and friendly team at East Of Eden for having us along to perform at their inaugural event at The Urban Bar Whitechapel last night- great turnout with a huge level of musical talent from Matthew Carter Music (featuring beautiful cello and vocal harmonies from Catherine Mary Music), Josie Charlwood (Artist) and Hilang Child. An inspiring weekend indeed. And here's one of several photos of me publically deriding my poor banjo in front of the Willow Tree audience See y'all soon

Ladies and gentlemen, it is today.
"What is today?" I hear you ask. "The release of our debut EP with Folkstock Records," I answer. Yes, the record is now out on all good online stores and streaming sites, as well as available to purchase in physical form. If you want to stream OR buy it (physical or digital), Bandcamp is the place to go: https://folkstockrecords.bandcamp.com/album/sandtimer-different-seas . We'll be celebrating this release with our gig at the Willow Tree, Winchester, starting at 7.30 tonight. See you there, hopefully. Many thanks to Fatea Magazine for featuring our new video for 'Rusting Towers' in their recent article. You can now watch the video below. It features clips from footage my great grandfather took back in the 1930s-1940s, hope you enjoy it.
Sandtimer is going downtown Winchester tonight to play an unplanned (and possibly, I daresay, largely unattended) gig at The William Walker. There'll be a few new songs in the mix, as well as a banjo, come down at 8ish to see what's in store.
We're delighted to report that another of our songs has made the cut for 'Track Of The Day' on BBC Introducing South. Different Seas, the title track from our upcoming EP, will be played on Thursday 5th November at 4.40PM approx. Many thanks to Melita Dennett for her continued support of us and our music! |
